DescriptionA black and white photograph depicting an advertisement for the Santa Rosa Hospital in the San Antonio City Directory, 1881. The copy reads: "Santa Rosa Hospital, corner North Concho and Zavalla Streets. Under the direction of the Sisters of Charity. This institution is now firmly established, having recently made new additions in the way of buildings, and having been renovated throughout. Patients can now be accommodated in a first-class manner, receiving every attention and comfort of a home. Charges from $1, $1.25 to $2 per day, according to location of room. This includes board and nursing. Every patient is required to employ his own physician, who will also furnish medicines. Mother St. Pierre, Superioress, San Antonio, Texas.
